LEVI’S MEATPACKING

Thursday night Levi’s in the meatpacking had a small event showcasing their Tailor Shop! iv walked past this shop a few times now and never walked in, if only i knew what they were doing in there i would of walked in ages ago. I was really impressed with the set up they had for the tailor shop offering a full service for your denim and yes also chainstitching. They offered allot of cuts that Levi’s have done over the years 1947, 1955, 1966, all the classics and even more. The shop floor is super easy to navigate around, guys on the left & girls on the right, they stock current Levi’s, LVC and some Levi’s X Filson garments. I would highly recommend checking out this shop and i will be going back for sure, maybe for one of those Levi’s X Filson garments.

I am in the market for a new bag and Goyard seems to constantly be catching my eye, after looking into the company and looking into their history which I shouldn’t of done only makes me want it more. I want to get a large portfolio instead of a tote as every kid is rocking totes and I want to tone it down a little and minimize my EDC and then rock a bag when I actually need it.

 

The reason I am choosing to go with designer is to counteract the look, I will get into counteracting in another post but its simply so an outfit wont look like a costume, depending on your style will depend on what to choose. But at the same time I still wanted something classic hence me choosing Goyard. Looks like I just sold it to myself, which I am really good at doing :) oh well the search begins tomorrow.

Haha This makes me laugh every time, minus the drug habit this little skit is so true. Educate yourself in what you want to learn not what the teachers are told to teach you.

TEXTILES: Super 120 winter weight wool. Went down to the Garment district and found a few really good textile places for shirting, suiting, coats, basically everything. The fabric iv bought is going to make a nice winter pant and being a super 120 means the pant can take a beating. Iv designed the pant and it should be ready latter this week, lets see how it turns out!.

She is hands down one of my closest friends and it kinda sux being on opposite sides of the world especially when her internet is rubbish and keeps cutting out when trying to Skype, but all that aside one day we will take over the world (personal joke) but really its one of those jokes that we are half serious about. Anyway LookOut for this girl, she is on the hustle and she is going places i guarantee it!

Greatness is achieved by few, one failure and it’s a wrap. So when you ask that person their response will be “it wont work iv tried” Really?.. They never really wanted it bad enough so the first inkling of rejection they jump at it like a life saver instantly returning them back to their comfort zone and feel somewhat comfortable with themselves that they had a piss-poor attempt. And these are the people you are asking for permission. I asked someone once and they said that it couldn’t be done, it took me two phone calls & now I will continue to do what others say cant be done. There are 100 ways to achieve greatness, you only need 1 & the only permission you need is your own.  ingood Company.

Being new to New York I was itching at a chance to check out a fashion show but unfortunately I don’t know anyone here yet :( so I didn’t get to go. But! After the Ralph Lauren fashion show an event was held at the women’s mansion on Madison av. I was eavesdropping and heard they needed someone from the men’s mansion to be at the event in case anyone needed assistance with men’s garments, so I jumped at it! Even though it was my day off, I figured it was the closest I would get to anything from fashion week. Andre Leon Talley was the special guest and spoke at the event and gave a very intimate & beautiful speech about Mr. Lauren. Head designer form accessories was offering custom bags hand made in Italy, the detail that goes into one of Mr. Laurens bags is incredible and fully justifies the price point. The event was beautiful and as you would expect every detail was perfect. Unfortunately I didn’t get to snap any shots as I was working but I would do it again in a second. 

 

Off to buy a bike.. & some headphones so i can continue to listen to Nique niquestewart.com

New Denim.

One of the hardest things to buy in my opinion is a new pair of denim but can be the most pleasant if the experience is right, and the boys down at Blue in Green in SOHO had it covered and it is about the only place that sells Japanese denim by Japanese who would of figured, Except for Akira at RHD in Adelaide Australia. 

Warehouse was the pick and these are real Men’s denim, 14 0z, selvedge, full cut, high-rise with a single rinse. They also hem your denim with an original union special chain stitch machine and had mine done twice as I don’t want to show cuff and want them to sit with minimal break. If it wasn’t for hipsters having to ruin everything cool I would still cuff my pants but now every twat does it I simply cant. Hmmm maybe a single cuff here & there wouldn’t hurt.
